Persuasive Writing

Yul Choi

August, 5th, 2013

Dear Government of Korea,

I'm writing this letter because I believe computer games
have bad influences on Korean teenagers, especially students.
I strongly believe that the Korean government should ban computer
games and Korean students shouldn't play computer games.
Many experts like Dr. Donny , for example agree with me.
I will explain reasons for this and give facts to support my opinion.
The first reason is because computer games can be extremely addictive to Korean students. There are statistics to show this is true. According to a website, techaddiction.ca/internet_addictior , it states that 10 percent of youth in Korea are considered to be addicted to computer games. 10 percent may not look much. However that is a large amount of students who are addicted to computer games

The second reason is because since many part of games are not free, students spend a lot of money in games. There are facts to show that this is true. By spending money in games you can be really good
at games. Especially some students spend money in games because
of their competitiveness; to beat other people in games.
The final reason is because computer games make it hard for
students to focus in school when students play computer games.
It is now known that students will think a lot about computer games and
not concentrate on school. Also some violent computer games cause
behavioral disorders to students.
As you can see, computer games have bad influence to students.
Based on my argument, I hope you will consider my point of view
as reasonable and try to ban computer games from students.

Thank You.
Sincerely, Yul Choi
